Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reunite to Fight a Long-Forgotten Villain

A previously unknown character is entering the story. Panda Khan will appear for the first time in the upcoming episodes of Saturday Morning Adventures.

IDW Publishing has given fans a sneak peek at issue #37 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures, introducing a new character: Panda Khan, a samurai from another dimension. The comic, which hits shelves on May 27, 2026, features this noble warrior finding himself unexpectedly on Earth. IDW has shared a first look at the issue’s covers, showcasing Panda Khan in action.

Panda Khan Reunites with TMNT in New Saturday Morning Adventures

The latest comic book issue hints at a fun adventure with a new character, Panda Khan! He arrives in New York after outsmarting some evil sorceresses, and needs the Ninja Turtles’ help. Will they be able to defeat the spider witches Twixt and Tween and help Panda Khan get home? Find out in this exciting 20-page team-up – it promises to be a wild ride!

I’m so excited about the latest issue of Saturday Morning Adventures! The art is by Sarah Myer, and Luis Antonio Delgado did the colors. Sarah Myer did the main cover, but there are also some really cool variant covers by Dave Garcia, Jonathan Miller, Steve Lavigne, and Pieter Vermaning – I can’t wait to see them all!

Fans haven’t seen Panda Khan, or Li Yang, the boy warrior bear, in a long time. Created by Monica Sharp and Dave Garcia, he’s had very little to do with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, aside from a brief appearance as a toy in 1990. He’s expected to return in Crouching Panda, Hidden Turtles in 2025.

It doesn’t look like Panda Khan and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will team up for very long. A preview for issue #38 of Saturday Morning Adventures suggests the Turtles will soon face a bigger problem: Hun, the leader of the Purple Dragons, is getting a strange new ability.

IDW Brings Back the Classic Ninja Turtles with New Multipart Series

Panda Khan’s recent appearance in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic is part of an ongoing effort to bring back the feeling of the original 1987 cartoon. According to IDW Publishing, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted in 1984, but it was the popular theme song and exciting cartoon series in 1987 that really made them a worldwide success.

The series began with four special episodes that continue the spirit of the original show. Since launching in 2023, it’s received a lot of positive feedback, particularly for its fun tone, exciting adventures, and ability to appeal to fans of all ages.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures #37 goes on sale starting on May 27.
