Another Jump Street movie, the 24th installment, is being planned, and negotiations are underway to bring back Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube.
When 21 Jump Street came out in 2012, it was a huge success. The movie was funny and cleverly poked fun at both the original TV show and typical action movies.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum made a winning double-act, the film grossed more than $200 million worldwide, and it spawned 2014 sequel 22 Jump Street, which made more than $330 million at the global box office.
There were talks of a third Jump Street movie that would have combined with the Men in Black franchise, and a script was even written, but the project was ultimately cancelled. Now, instead of making a movie based on the number 23, the team is moving forward with plans for a fourth film, jumping straight to Jump Street 24.
24 Jump Street “took so long to make we had to skip one”

24 Jump Street has been written by Jonah Hill, Meghan Malloy, and 22 Jump Street scribe Rodney Rothman, who will also direct the forthcoming movie.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of the last two films, will produce the new movie, along with Neal H. Moritz, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Details about the story are still secret, but producer Moritz posted a photo of the script on Instagram hinting at why the movie is skipping the number 23. He explained they had to cut it because the production process took so long.

Hill and Tatum are in talks to return as mismatched cops Morton Schmidt and Greg Jenko, as is Ice Cube, who played their cantankerous police captain.
Tatum mentioned in 2024 that a script for a sequel existed, and he believes it’s the strongest script he’s ever seen for a third film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It’s not clear if he’s talking about the same script, but Tatum added: “I’m going to put some good juju out there and I’m going to say I would love to see 23 Jump Street. I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah I know wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again.”
