Information about the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A game is rapidly circulating online, and players are already excited about a redesigned look for the Pokémon Center nurses.
It’s important to know that the women who staff Pokémon Centers in the video games aren’t actually called Nurse Joy. That name comes from the anime series and has only appeared in three games: Pokémon Yellow and the Pokémon Let’s Go games. In the main video games, the Pokémon Center staff don’t share a common name or design.
Recent leaks from copies of the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A have revealed designs for Mega Evolutions and characters. Fans are particularly excited about the new design for the Pokémon Center attendant.

Recent information shared on Twitter (now X) by Centro Leaks shows that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will feature the first Pokémon Center Nurse with a visible design. Beyond the typical online chatter, fans have overwhelmingly praised the character’s design.
One person commented they’d be pausing frequently to heal their Pokémon, acknowledging Brock’s strategy was smart. Another user expressed admiration for a character’s appearance, saying she’s far more attractive than the standard Pokémon Center nurse.
The helpful staff at Pokemon Centers have been a part of the series since the very beginning, so it’s a bit surprising it took so long to see a fresh new look for them.
Since Lumiose City in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is inspired by Paris, and Paris is known for its diverse population, the game developers likely aimed to show a similar variety of people in the Kalos region. Paris welcomes people from all over the world, so it’s fitting that Kalos would also feature a diverse cast of characters.
