Fans are now getting a first look at the visual style of Middle-earth as it appears in the upcoming game, Ascension, later this year.
The first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Ascension, the upcoming expansion, is now available before the official crowdfunding campaign begins on Gamefound. The trailer reveals a preview of the new The Lord of the Rings cards and features iconic locations from J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved fantasy story.
The Lord of the Rings Is Officially Coming to Ascension
The Lord of the Rings: Ascension is the latest expansion pack for the Ascension deckbuilding game, created by Stone Blade Entertainment. Stone Blade was founded by Justin Gary, the game’s designer, along with professional Magic: The Gathering players Brian Kibler, Rob Dougherty, and John Fiorillo.
I first discovered Ascension back in 2011 when it came out on iOS, and I was instantly hooked! It quickly became a favorite deckbuilding game of mine, and it’s awesome that it’s now available on so many different platforms. Plus, they’ve released a ton of expansions over the years, which just keeps the game fresh and exciting!
Okay, so I’ve been checking out The Lord of the Rings: Ascension, and basically the world’s in trouble, as you’d expect! You build up a team of heroes and collect cards to get stronger and come up with a winning strategy. But here’s the catch – the One Ring is always tempting you, and every decision you make really matters. It’s easy to pick up and start playing, but it sounds like getting good is going to take some serious effort, and winning won’t come cheap!
I’m thrilled to introduce The Lord of the Rings to the Ascension universe with The Lord of the Rings: Ascension! Now you can experience Middle-earth like never before, building decks featuring heroes from the Fellowship, collecting famous weapons, and fighting the most well-known villains in fantasy.
Gary explained that his team has been working for over a year to create unique gameplay features specifically for the Lord of the Rings universe. These include choices about resisting the Ring’s corruption, the option to form the Fellowship and benefit from teamwork, and a system for earning honor by defeating famous enemies, ultimately with the goal of overcoming Sauron.
Fans of deckbuilding games will likely be thrilled about the upcoming release of The Lord of the Rings: Ascension. However, many gamers have been hoping for a truly immersive experience in Middle-earth, and it seems they may have to wait longer following recent game releases.
I’m really excited because the crowdfunding campaign for The Lord of the Rings: Ascension is launching on Gamefound later this year! I’ve been following this game and can’t wait to hopefully back it and get my hands on it.
