Amazon Primes new GenAI cartoon looks like K-Pop Demon Hunters with aliens

Okay, so Amazon is doing something really cool – they’re making an animated show about K-Pop inspired demon hunters! And the even wilder part? They’re using it as a way to show off their new generative AI technology. As a fan, I’m super excited to see how this all comes together – it sounds like a totally unique blend of genres!

In a recent interview, Amazon Prime discussed its commitment to using artificial intelligence in its services. They showcased three projects funded by their new ‘GenAI Creators Fund,’ which is designed to help creators make innovative TV shows and movies that weren’t possible before.

They’re also launching three new animated series made with artificial intelligence. One of these shows bears a striking resemblance to a popular K-Pop-inspired action film that gained a lot of attention online last year.

Amazon Prime announces Love, Diana Music Hunter AI show

The show in question is called Love, Diana Music Hunter, and has the following premise:

According to Diana, a popular YouTube creator and partner at pocket.watch, a K-pop group of young musicians travels through space to Planet Goo. Their mission? To perform a concert that will bring music back to the planet and rescue its alien inhabitants. The series was created by Albie Hecht at pocket.watch.

The idea of K-Pop stars battling monsters and using their music to bring people together isn’t new. It’s similar to a popular movie, but perhaps a bit more family-friendly, as they don’t actually fight the creatures. Fans who enjoy K-Pop groups with a supernatural edge might be excited to hear about a potential new series like ‘Huntrix’.

It’s not yet clear how much artificial intelligence will be used in the new show, Love, Diana Music Hunter. However, the pilot episode had a tight five-week deadline, designed to demonstrate the show could be produced rapidly, suggesting AI will likely play a role.

We don’t have a release date for Love, Diana Music Hunter yet, but it will be available on Amazon Prime.
