In Just 7 Days, Taylor Sheridan’s New Yellowstone Spinoff Breaks Major Paramount+ Record

Paramount+ is really benefiting from the success of Taylor Sheridan’s shows. Even though their partnership will end in 2029, they continue to work incredibly well together, particularly with the hit series Yellowstone.

This year has seen several additions to the popular neo-Western universe, including the new shows Marshals and Dutton Ranch, plus The Madison, a series originally planned as part of Yellowstone. The Madison initially broke records in March with its debut, becoming the most-watched premiere on Paramount+. However, Dutton Ranch quickly surpassed it, achieving an even larger and more successful release.

Paramount+ announced that the new sequel series received fantastic reviews and attracted 12.9 million viewers worldwide in its first week. This makes it the biggest original series launch for the streaming service, surpassing the previous record of 8 million viewers held by The Madison, which debuted in March.

Beyond its impressive streaming performance, Dutton Ranch also premiered on Paramount Network with two episodes. The network reported 1.9 million viewers tuned in for the first episode, making it the biggest cable premiere since 2023. Dutton Ranch was also the most-watched entertainment program on cable for its premiere day, attracting the largest audience among adults aged 18-49 and overall viewers.

I was so excited to see the numbers for the Yellowstone spinoff, Marshals! It set a new record for CBS, bringing in 9.52 million viewers for its first episode. That’s amazing, especially considering the main Yellowstone series had been facing some of its lowest ratings recently. Still, it’s fantastic to see people tuning in to follow Kayce Dutton’s story!

Dutton Ranch releases new episodes every Friday on Paramount+.
