The critically acclaimed anime The Apothecary Diaries, winner of the 2026 Anime Award for Best Drama, has released its first trailer for a life simulation game. Players will step into the shoes of Maomao as she creates medicines and unravels mysteries set in a fantastical version of Tang Dynasty China. The game focuses on training and skill development.

Maomao’s Next Adventure Begins in The Apothecary Diaries Palace Chronicles
While fans eagerly await the arrival of Season 3, Part 1 in October 2026, and the first movie in December 2026, The Apothecary Diaries Palace Chronicles offers a new story with the original Japanese voice actors – a perfect way to hold fans over!
Yuki Aoi returns as the voice of Maomao, a role for which she previously won an award, and Takahiro Sakurai is back as Jinshi. Both actors have recorded new dialogue for their characters.
Both new and returning characters will appear in The Apothecary Diaries Palace Chronicles. As a special bonus, if 200,000 people pre-register for the game before it launches, players will receive Xiaolan—a beloved friend of the main character—as a free, ultra-rare character.
The upcoming anime simulation game has exceeded expectations with pre-registrations, already going beyond 50,000 and 100,000! This means players will get 50 Draw Tickets and 20 Tea Items when The Apothecary Diaries Palace Chronicles launches on G123.
The Apothecary Diaries Celebrates 3rd Anniversary With New Film and TV Projects in 2026
The Apothecary Diaries had a fantastic night at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, winning prizes for Best Drama, Best Director (Akinori Fudesaka and Norihiro Naganuma), Best Main Character, Best Japanese Voice Acting (Aoi Yuki), and Best Hindi Voice Acting (Abhishek Sharma as Jinshi). These wins demonstrate how successful 2024 has been for the series.
The anime series The Apothecary Diaries first launched on October 22, 2023, and is celebrating its third year. New episodes are planned for this fall, with another part coming in April 2027.
This release is happening in two parts to make way for the upcoming anime movie based on The Apothecary Diaries, which is scheduled to come out in December 2026. The first movie will feature a brand new story written by the series creator, Natsu Hyuuga.
