December is always a time for reflection across social platforms, and Snapchat is no exception.
Similar to Spotify Wrapped and YouTube Recap, Snapchat has launched its 2025 version of Snapchat Recap. This feature lets users see a personalized review of their activity and connections from the past year.
Recap is a personalized video that brings together a Snapchat user’s favorite moments from 2025, including their Memories, Snaps, Stories, and chats.
Snapchat Recap is here, giving users a look back at their activity on the app. This year’s data shows that friends, creativity, and staying connected were the most important things for Snapchat users.
How to see your Snapchat Recap for 2025
Snapchat’s yearly highlights, called Recap, started appearing for users on December 15th, but it might not be available to everyone just yet. Here’s how to check if you have access to it:
- Open Snapchat on your phone
- Go to the camera, then tap on memories
Your 2025 Snapchat Recap video will be available to watch at the top of the page.
Snapchat conversations increased significantly this year. People around the world spent almost 1.7 billion minutes daily using voice notes, calls, and video chats – a rise of nearly 30% compared to last year. In the U.S., users sent over 5 billion voice notes in 2025, which is about 10% more than the year before.

In 2025, people increasingly turned to visual ways to communicate online. Chat reactions jumped by 44%, and the heart emoji was used more than any other. Stickers also became more popular, with over 3 million new users using them to express feelings and add meaning to their conversations.
What’s popular online heavily influenced what people were asking for in real life. Hairstyles inspired by Bitmoji avatars – like sleek buns, textured ‘broccoli’ cuts, and curtain bangs – were some of the year’s biggest trends. The 6/7 Bitmoji sticker also became the most popular sticker ever, surpassing all previous records.
Group chats continue to be a key part of how people use Snapchat. In 2025, more than 5% more users sent messages within these chats, and some particularly active users sent over 8,880 messages to just one group chat throughout the year.
