Crimson Desert offers a vast and immersive experience with a lot to do. Players can explore a large world, complete numerous side quests, and solve various puzzles. These puzzles come in different forms, including Abyss Cressets, Abyss Nexus challenges, and Sanctums.
The Sanctum of Temperance is one of the earliest Sanctums players will encounter in Crimson Desert. The goal here is to restore power to the Sanctum by repairing it, which means locating hidden power cells throughout the area.
Need help with the Sanctum of Temperance puzzle in Crimson Desert? This guide will show you how to complete it.
How to Unlock the Sanctum of Temperance

If you’re exploring the vast world of Crimson Desert, you’ve probably found the Sanctum of Temperance. However, if you visit it too early in the game, you’ll hear a voice telling you that you need to find someone first before you can interact with it.
You can access the Sanctum of Temperance once you’ve defeated the Witch in Chapter 5. Defeating the Witch actually unlocks all Sanctums across the world of Crimson Desert. However, even after unlocking a Sanctum, you’ll still need to solve a puzzle inside to fully complete it.
Once you unlock the Witch and she becomes a merchant, she’ll give you a quest to purify all the Sanctums in the game world. Because it’s a quest, you can quickly mark each Sanctum on your map using your journal.
How to Cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance
When you try to cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance, you’ll immediately face a group of enemies. You need to defeat them all before you can begin the cleansing process.
After you’ve defeated all the enemies, your next goal is to find a power cube to restore power to the Sanctum. You’ll find it under the Sanctum of Temperance – just jump down the hole in the ground to get there. Check out the images below for a visual guide.
Now, use your Axiom Force to grab the cube and return it to the Sanctum. When you get back, place the power cube in front of the empty square hole. Then, use Force Palm – a powerful punch – to insert it.
Now, let’s fix one of the pillars around the Sanctum. If you look closely, you’ll see one is missing its cap. You can find that missing piece on top of the building to the right of the Sanctum – it’s the one covered in vines.

The vines are blocking your way to the item, so you’ll need to clear them first. You can do this by shooting a fire arrow at the vines, or by using your Blinding Flash ability, which will use the sunlight to burn them away.
After the vines are gone, use Axiom Force to lift the piece and move it to the damaged pillar. Turn the piece until it fits neatly into the slot on top, then climb onto the pillar and use a downward Force Palm strike to secure it.
Okay, so I finally finished that step and it totally cleansed the Sanctum – mission accomplished! The best part is I got some blueprints as a reward. Now I can check those out and learn how to make some new stuff at the blacksmith. Sweet!
