So, it’s been a while, but this is the first update for the Switch version of the game here in the West since it came out back in 2018. It’s a little weird, though – Nintendo still lists it as unsupported for backwards compatibility on the Switch 2 because of some issues with how the game saves progress. I’m not sure if this update fixes that, but right now you can’t even buy the game directly on the Switch 2 eShop. Shenmue III first came out on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2019. Now, an updated version called Shenmue III Enhanced is heading to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the new Nintendo Switch 2.
