Intelligent Systems has begun revealing information about important characters from Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on the official Japanese Fire Emblem social media channels.
Just a quick note: the events of Fortune’s Weave happen in the same world as Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Specifically, it’s set on the Dagda continent, which is south of Fodlan (where Three Houses takes place) and also includes the Brigid archipelago – the homeland of Petra Macneary. You might remember that Shamir Nevrand, a character from Three Houses, is also originally from Dagda.
We’re continually adding to this article as new information becomes available from Intelligent Systems. Please be aware that these translations are based on the original Japanese release, so some wording might be different in the English version due to changes made for localization. Finally, be warned that our explanations may contain spoilers for Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave characters revealed so far
Cai

Cai, the Ribeiran Wind (Japanese VA: Daiki Yamashita)
I’m really drawn to this character – he’s a lively, good-hearted kid who deeply loves his family and grew up in the peaceful village of Ribeira. He had such a happy childhood with his friends, but everything changed on his fifteenth birthday. It feels like that moment really set him on a new path, and I’m excited to see where it leads!
Riding a flying ostrich that easily clears obstacles, this warrior dominates the battlefield. Skilled with a lance, he moves freely and swiftly to strike down opponents.
Favorite things: Moving his own body, Catching animals

Dietrich

Dietrich of House Lamine (Japanese VA: Satoshi Hino)
This skilled swordsman is always searching for challenging opponents to satisfy his competitive spirit. He’s originally from Fodlan, a country located across the sea.
Dietrich fights with Answerer, a powerful magic sword and a treasured Hero’s Relic. He has a special attack called Blood Flash that significantly increases his chances of landing a critical hit, dealing triple damage.
Favorite things: Things that feel “beautiful”, Sweet things, His own younger sister
An image of Dietrich’s art reveals he belonged to the House Lamine, making him a distant cousin to Mercedes von Martritz and Jeritza from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
