Hatsune Miku, the popular Vocaloid singer, is coming to the Persona universe! She’ll be joining Joker and his friends as part of a special event celebrating the series’ anniversary.
This year marks the first anniversary of Persona 5: The Phantom X, often called P5X by its fans, and the celebration is starting with a bang!
A popular announcement was the return of Hatsune Miku, the famous Vocaloid singer with twin tails, to the Persona game series.
The developers haven’t revealed much about how Miku will help the Phantom Thieves fight enemies, but they did release a short trailer featuring her with the main character, Nagisa Kamishiro.
Miku joins Persona cast in new anniversary update
The trailer reveals that Kamishiro enjoys Vocaloid music, specifically a song called “Ghost Rule” by DECO*27, before he begins tracking down shadows.
Miku is showing up on TVs all over town, and then seems to put on a live concert inside the Metaverse! People are really enjoying this exciting event, just as you’d imagine.
One fan pointed out that the game strongly implies the Phantom Thieves listen to Hatsune Miku songs on their phones, giving us a glimpse into their musical preferences. Another user enthusiastically responded that this detail convinced them they had to buy the collaboration content.
Fans familiar with the Persona series may recognize this virtual idol – her look is identical to the one featured in the rhythm game, Persona 4: Dancing All Night. This isn’t her first appearance within the franchise.
The team behind the game announced we’ll learn more about the Hatsune Miku and Persona 5 X (P5X) collaboration on June 18th at 12:00 PM UTC. It won’t be long before all the details are revealed! Plus, fans know you can never have too many Miku crossovers, and this one isn’t even the most surprising collaboration she’s been a part of this year.
We previously wrote about a limited-edition Hatsune Miku fishing rod that glows in the dark. Now, fans of Forza Horizon 6 are busy creating Miku-inspired cars! There’s even a special Hatsune Miku bathhouse offering themed baths and exclusive merchandise.
