The popular anime shooter Snowbreak: Containment Zone has returned after being offline for over two months, but players have noticed that some of the game’s female characters have been altered with censorship.
Snowbreak: Containment Zone is often noted for its focus on appealing to fans, particularly through the revealing outfits worn by its female characters.
On March 2, 2026, Amazing Seasun Games, a Chinese game developer, announced that their popular gacha game would be taken offline temporarily for technical updates.
Developers didn’t explain the delay beyond saying it was because of the amount of data needing to be processed, leading them to warn fans it could take a significant amount of time.
I was so hyped when Snowbreak came back online on May 8th, 2026 – it had been 66 days since they first said it would be happening! But honestly, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. We all logged in expecting things to be normal, and… well, the anime girls are dressed a lot more conservatively now. It’s a total letdown for a lot of us fans, and what should have been a celebration feels more like a disaster.
Snowbreak fans outraged over outfit censorship
Gamers on social media have noticed significant censorship of character designs and appearances. One Reddit post, in particular, highlighted how much the game’s visual appeal has been altered.
One frustrated fan expressed their disappointment with recent changes, stating that after 66 days of no updates from the developers, they’ve encountered significant censorship. This includes a lack of voice lines and animations for characters in the lobby, and all previously available animated cover art for user profiles has been replaced with censored, static images.
The pictures demonstrate that many of the female characters in the game have had their outfits changed to be more conservative and less revealing.
One fan said they were really happy to return to the game, but if it lost the feature that makes it unique compared to other similar games, they’d likely stop playing and find something else.
This… is utterly disgraceful

I really like the characters, but the game’s story and how it plays aren’t strong enough to overcome the recent censorship changes.
Players have reported issues with cosmetics they bought, saying the appearance is incorrect no matter how they adjust the settings. Many feel this makes their purchases a waste of money.
One player reported losing about half of their animations and other in-game features, with no backups available. They expressed disappointment after only purchasing a single wedding skin for Katya and worried about those who had spent more money. They’re hoping the developers are working to restore everything gradually, but stressed the need for a quick resolution.
As a result of the censorship, players have started to review bomb the game on Steam, where it currently sits with a ‘Mostly Negative’ review rating.
This week, Snowbreak isn’t the only game facing criticism. The developers of Neverness to Everness are also being called out for using art and other assets created by artificial intelligence.
