The Devil Wears Prada 2 Cameos You May Have Blinked and Missed (Plus Lady Gaga)

Light spoilers ahead for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Watching The Devil Wears Prada 2, you might find yourself wondering why you weren’t asked to make a quick appearance. It felt like everyone else in Hollywood showed up, leading to the natural question of why you were left out. Did the director not think you’d be a good fit for a brief cameo, or were you simply overlooked? The truth is probably just that the movie already had too many celebrity appearances.

The movie boasts a large supporting cast, including Caleb Hearon as Miranda’s assistant, Catherine Cohen as the voice of a podcast Andy enjoys, and Briga Heelan (from Great News) as a flight attendant mentioning snacks. However, the film really stands out because it features so many celebrities appearing as themselves, they get a dedicated section in the credits! Surprisingly, even more famous faces were filmed but didn’t make the final cut, including Sydney Sweeney and Grant Gibbs from A Twink and a Rehead.

Let’s talk about the cameos that actually appeared in the movie—many are so quick, you could easily miss them! If you did miss any, here’s a chance to see who made an appearance.

Model Ashley Graham has one of the first cameos in the film, appearing on the blue carpet at the Runway Gala held at the American Museum of Natural History. Though it appears blue, the carpet is actually a specific shade called cerulean.

Ciara is apparently succeeding with her cameo appearance! The singer of “1, 2 Step” is also at the gala, though it seems like most attendees aren’t sticking to the “Spring Florals” dress code.

Fans spotted a fun detail in the show! Though Conrad Ricamora’s character was cut, a glimpse of Cole Escola’s portrait of Mary Todd Lincoln – available as merchandise – appears in Andy’s apartment. It’s a sweatshirt or tote bag hanging by the door, and it’s a welcome touch of style. Viewers are now wondering if Andy acquired it at the Lyceum or the Lortel theater!

Marc Jacobs
A fashion designer playing himself in The Devil Wears Prada 2? Groundbreaking.

Given Meryl Streep filmed a scene at an actual Dolce & Gabbana fashion show while in character, it’s fitting to see the designers featured in the movie. However, it’s surprising to see Miranda, after a recent scandal over fast fashion, align herself with designers who have publicly opposed gay adoption. It seems like Runway magazine lacks a strong public relations team.

Jon Batiste and Suleika Jaouad were at Miranda’s party in the Hamptons. Batiste, who used to lead the band on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, understands how big media companies sometimes close down older platforms.

The movie has some funny scenes, but tech journalist Kara Swisher’s surprise appearance as a guest at Miranda’s house got the biggest laugh from me. And naturally, she was wearing her trademark Top Gun sunglasses! It was a delightfully unexpected moment.

After a cameo by Anna Wintour was cut from the movie, filmmakers needed another recognizable celebrity with a bob hairstyle, and quickly. They immediately thought of Jenna Bush Hager, co-host of the Today show. When her character was introduced to Andy at a party, the audience’s reaction was electric – it felt like a superhero team-up, and deserved a huge round of applause.

Karl-Anthony Towns simply introduces himself as Karl, and Andy quickly finishes his name, saying “Anthony Towns.” The connection between him and Miranda, however, is a story for another time.

Seriously? In the previous film, Miranda couldn’t even remember party guests without Emily and Andy whispering their names to her. Now, she magically knows all the rotating hosts of The Daily Show? It doesn’t make any sense!

Honestly, seeing Tina Brown pop up in that Hamptons world felt right. It just makes sense that this British magazine editor would absolutely be having wine with Miranda Priestley – I can totally picture it!

Heidi Klum is back, and this time she’s brought along Law Roach, her stylist and co-star from Project Runway. While Klum previously made a cameo in the first film, this marks a new collaboration for the pair. Notably, none of the judges or talent from America’s Got Talent are involved.

The film includes a fun cameo from Amelia Dimoldenberg, appearing at Irv Ravitz’s 75th birthday party. She even briefly explains her web series, Chicken Shop Date, to someone at the party. This is the only cameo that also serves as a promotional opportunity, highlighting Dimoldenberg’s savvy marketing skills.

Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner are a fast-paced duo – a comedic and fashionable force, especially known for their podcast. Seeing Paige DeSorbo is always fun, but the idea of Miranda learning about the reality show Summer House is a bit unsettling. It feels like a telling sign of a struggling industry.

Hugh Jackman doesn’t appear in the movie, but according to the story’s established details, he is at the party. Andy’s boyfriend, who doesn’t seem to connect with her, tries to bond with Jackman over their shared Australian heritage. This raises the question: was Sutton Foster also at the party? Fans are wondering where her cameo appearance is.

Fashion icon Donatella Versace had a lunch scene with Emily, and briefly seemed annoyed when Emily was interrupted. It was hard to follow their conversation – either because they were speaking Italian, or it was just difficult to hear. This moment felt like a callback to the first movie, which also featured a memorable mention of Donatella Versace and her private jet. 💜

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was sitting next to Miranda at the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show. Although Anna Wintour has previously criticized Campbell for being late to shows, it’s unlikely she would ever make Miranda wait.

Lisa Rinna was likely thrilled to see her daughter, model Amelia Gray Hamlin, walk in the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show, even ahead of Miranda Kerr!

Lady Gaga’s appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2 felt surreal, with her delivery echoing her iconic “Telephone” music video. She plays herself performing “Shape of a Woman” at Runway‘s Milan fashion show, and it’s revealed she has a longstanding rivalry with Miranda. This leads to a playfully tense, subtly hostile conversation between them backstage, culminating in Gaga’s exasperated question: “Who let her in here?”

The film also featured quick appearances by many well-known people, including golfer Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica, author Tomi Adeyemi, journalist Molly Jong-Fast, designer Brunello Cucinelli with his daughters Camilla and Carolina, writer Jia Tolentino, photographer Brigitte Lacombe, artist Adam Pendleton, author Richard Kirshenbaum, journalist Vanessa Friedman, makeup artist Sarah Tanno, hairstylist Frederic Aspiras, art dealer Marc Glimcher, former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, and models Karolina Kurková, Calum Harper, Anok Yai, Wisdom Kaye, and Winnie Harlow.
