Even though Elden Ring already offers hundreds of hours of gameplay and exploration, many players are eager to return and battle its famous bosses again. While a movie based on the game is in the works, and details are slowly being revealed, one passionate fan is creating a way for players to revisit the world of Elden Ring much sooner.
Although it’s not as large as the sequel many fans were hoping for after the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, this project is remarkably creative – and it’s something even a major game studio would be proud to create, especially considering it’s completely free to download and play.
Ever imagined playing Elden Ring on a classic Game & Watch? Lucas Cavanna has created a delightful pixelated demake of FromSoftware’s popular RPG on Itch.io. While it doesn’t have the vast world of the original game, it beautifully recreates the bosses and enemies in a charming retro style.
The Elden Ring Game & Watch features 10 locations and 22 enemies from the original game. While the gameplay is straightforward – you can only move and attack – it’s a fun and charming tribute to both FromSoftware and classic Nintendo titles, offering a concise but enjoyable experience.
Many fans have made impressive mods for Elden Ring that change how the game plays and add new ways to enjoy it. However, Elden Ring and Watch is a unique project – you don’t need the original Elden Ring game to play it, just the downloadable zip file.
Although the gameplay is simple and the battles are direct, Elden Ring and Watch features ten of the most memorable bosses from Elden Ring. The game follows a similar path to the main story of Elden Ring, guiding you on your quest to become the Elden Lord.
The combat feels like a rhythm game, requiring precise timing of blocks, dodges, and attacks. The game also hides secrets, including two of Elden Ring‘s endings and a third, hidden ending for players to find.
Although the boss fights aren’t drastically different, it’s fantastic to see them recreated with such a retro aesthetic. The roughly 30-minute experience is a perfect way to enjoy some of the most memorable moments from Elden Ring.
