Lil Wayne slams NBA referees for making Lakers game “unwatchable”

Lil Wayne was frustrated after watching the LA Lakers lose to the Oklahoma City Thunder, believing the referees made unfair calls that cost his team the game.

Lil Wayne is a big Lakers fan, and he’s understandably upset watching his team struggle in the playoffs right now.

The Lakers have lost their first two games against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference semi-finals, falling 125-107 on Thursday. However, Lil Wayne seems to believe there’s a hidden reason behind their recent loss.

Referee accused of being biased towards OKC Thunder

I was scrolling through Twitter while watching the Thunder game, and Lil Wayne posted something I totally agree with! He said the OKC games are just tough to watch, and even the refs are wearing the Thunder’s colors tonight – it’s wild!

Many fans shared similar feelings. One fan wrote online, suggesting the referees were favoring the Oklahoma City Thunder due to the frequency of fouls called.

Another said: “Anything to prevent the Lakers from getting a fair series.”

A third added: “At this point just let the refs sub in and throw the free throws too.”

Man, last night’s Lakers game was rough! The refs were calling everything on us – we ended up with 26 fouls compared to only 21 for OKC. It got so bad that three of our guys were in serious foul trouble and had to play super carefully for the rest of the game, just trying not to foul out. It really changed how we could play.

The Thunder were fouled 14 times in the third quarter, and this surge in free throws helped them turn a tight game into a comfortable victory.

Lakers coach JJ Redick expressed frustration with the officiating, specifically regarding how LeBron James is treated. He told ESPN that James doesn’t get enough foul calls compared to other star players, noting that referees often favor smaller, more demonstrative players. Redick explained that it’s harder for larger players like James to draw fouls, and he felt James was unfairly hit multiple times during tonight’s game.

The two teams will play each other on Sunday and Tuesday nights to decide which one will advance to the NBA Finals.

Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown received a $50,000 fine for criticizing referees while live-streaming on Twitch.
