As a huge World Cup fan, I was shocked to see how expensive tickets are getting for 2026! FIFA is now offering resale tickets, and some of them are listed for an unbelievable $2.3 million. It’s crazy how much things have escalated!
The tournament is starting soon, and fans are excited to travel to venues across North America to watch the world’s best players compete.
At the beginning of this month, reports suggested World Cup tickets might reach $11,000, but prices have since skyrocketed on the resale market.
World Cup final seats could cost millions
FIFA’s official ticket marketplace recently listed four tickets to the World Cup final on July 19th for an incredible $2,299,998 apiece.

The championship game is happening at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, but buying these tickets would cost a staggering $9.2 million.
It’s true that some of those prices are unusually high. However, even the least expensive resale tickets are now much more expensive than they were just a few weeks ago. They’ve jumped from around $11,000 to at least $16,098.
FIFA doesn’t set the prices when tickets are resold, but they do keep 15% of the money from each sale. It’s important to remember that the very high prices you see are just asking prices, and sellers might lower them if the tickets don’t sell.
Previously, resold World Cup tickets couldn’t be sold for more than their original price. However, that rule isn’t being followed for the next tournament.
