Nintendo releases classic soundtracks on Spotify but you have to be quick

Nintendo is now letting fans hear music from its games on Spotify, but the selection is limited and it won’t be available forever.

Nintendo is famous for its beloved classic games, and many of those games feature incredibly memorable soundtracks. Despite this, Nintendo hasn’t always made it easy for fans to access and enjoy that music.

You couldn’t officially find their music on platforms like Spotify – though fans have made their own versions. Previously, the only official way to listen to music from classic Nintendo games like Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda was through Nintendo’s own music service.

I couldn’t believe it when I checked Spotify today! Two of my all-time favorite movie soundtracks, ones I’ve been waiting ages for, were finally added. It’s a dream come true!

Super Mario Galaxy soundtracks are on Spotify for a limited time

Starting April 24th, a complete official playlist of music from both Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is available. Featuring 130 tracks from the beloved games, it lets fans revisit their favorite moments, characters, and levels.

A second playlist has also been added, featuring music from both Super Mario Bros. films to coincide with the April release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Okay, so I’ve got Spotify Premium and I’m using the app, and it’s pretty cool – when a song starts, this little thing called Luma actually shows up on the playback bar, letting me know exactly how much of the song is left before it moves onto the next one. It’s a neat little feature!

However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The Super Mario Galaxy playlist is available for a limited time only, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Nintendo and Spotify haven’t said when it will disappear, so it’s best to listen soon.

So, it looks like this special release is just going to be the Galaxy games. Don’t get your hopes up for other favorites like Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 showing up on there anytime soon, unfortunately!
