Alan Ritchson has been cleared by police following a viral video showing him in a physical altercation with a neighbor.
Lee Child’s ‘Reacher’ actor faced criticism after a video surfaced showing him physically assaulting a man on a residential street. The incident reportedly happened while his children were nearby on motorcycles.
People online have been closely watching Alan Ritchson after he shared strange Instagram posts about being jet-lagged from a trip to Australia. The attention increased when Ronnie Taylor, a British man living abroad, revealed he was the other person in the video and said he started the physical altercation.
Authorities have determined that Ritchson and Taylor committed no crime, and they will not be charged.

According to a spokesperson for the Brentwood Police Department, authorities have decided not to file criminal charges after reviewing evidence – including videos and statements from witnesses – and have determined that Mr. Ritchson acted in self-defense.
While authorities initially thought about filing reckless endangerment charges, Mr. Ritchson decided not to press them. The District Attorney’s Office agreed with this decision, so the case has been closed and won’t be investigated further.
The situation suggests Ritchson could have pursued legal action against Taylor for putting him in danger. This likely stems from Taylor stopping Ritchson in the street while he was riding his motorcycle. Bodycam footage released online shows a broader view of what happened, and seems to indicate that Taylor initially pushed Ritchson before Ritchson responded.
The video currently spreading online hasn’t been confirmed as real and was originally shared by a TikTok user named frankpsyhogios6. It’s unknown where the video came from, and many viewers are discussing whether it might have been created using artificial intelligence.
Despite the initial reports, the actor known for playing Reacher has been found to have done nothing wrong. Following the release of a viral video showing the incident, Ritchson shared a quote on Instagram Tuesday attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte: “Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake.”
He hasn’t posted online since, and that could suggest he didn’t think he’d be charged with anything after officials looked at the body cam video.
