Paul Bettany has hinted at ambitious plans for the upcoming Disney+ Marvel show, VisionQuest, suggesting it will be a bold and innovative project.
What did Paul Bettany say about VisionQuest?
Paul Bettany is returning as Vision for a new Marvel Cinematic Universe project called VisionQuest. The story will continue Vision’s adventures after his appearance as White Vision in the Disney+ series WandaVision.
In a recent ScreenRant interview, Jennifer Bettany discussed working with VisionQuest creator Terry Matalas and what they hoped to achieve with the series.
Jettison Bettany believes Terry understood, as he did, that Marvel often succeeds when it takes bold risks. He felt Terry deeply understood the essence of Vision – a character who resonates with anyone who’s ever felt like an outcast or struggled to find a sense of belonging, especially the younger version of himself. Bettany thinks they created a really enjoyable show about a man grappling with his identity and searching for his place in the world.
James Spader is back as Ultron for the upcoming Disney+ series, VisionQuest. Both Paul Bettany and showrunner Jac Schaeffer Matalas described Spader’s return as fantastic, with Matalas also sharing his appreciation for the actor’s involvement.
Speaking with Screenrant, writer Jeff Matalas expressed immense pride in the episode ‘VisionQuest.’ He described it as a showcase for Paul Bettany and James Spader, highlighting the joy of watching the two actors interact. Matalas considers it a standout achievement, even during the editing process, and is eager for audiences to experience it.
The cast of VisionQuest includes Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, T’Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, Orla Brady, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Faran Tahir, Lauren Morais, Diane Morgan, and Mary McDonnell.
VisionQuest is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
