Pokopia players are already building classic Pokemon routes and it’s a throwback

Pokopia launched just last week, but players are already using its building features to recreate classic elements from the Generation 3 Pokémon games.

Pokopia arrived in early March 2026, letting players build and customize their own Pokemon islands. They could shape the land, place buildings, and create habitats to attract the Pokemon they wanted. It didn’t take long – less than a week – for players to start creating amazing things.

Players are rebuilding the Hoenn region in Pokopia

A Pokemon fan meticulously recreated Route 101 from the Ruby and Sapphire games using the building tools within Pokopia. The player announced their accomplishment, stating they plan to rebuild the entire Hoenn region within the game.

Originally released in Japan in 2002, Ruby and Sapphire are getting a complete remake. This is especially meaningful as it brings the classic Game Boy Advance games back to life on new Switch 2 hardware as part of a 2026 life-simulation spin-off. The creator, @sngw22, intends to rebuild the entire Hoenn region, leveraging Pokopia’s tools to recreate the beloved map.

Fans were both thrilled and a little jealous of this new project. One person commented that there was something wonderfully nostalgic about revisiting the Hoenn region, and they were hopeful the game would begin in Littleroot Town rather than the usual Pallet Town. Another fan declared it “the perfect way to experience Pokémon,” anticipating a lot of fun recreating each region. People were already sharing ideas, with one requesting the inclusion of Viridian Forest!

Pokopia has quickly become the best-rated Pokémon game of all time. The enthusiastic response from players who are recreating favorite areas in the game shows that its building tools are working perfectly.
