Becky Lynch, who appears in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, is melting down online about losing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. At WWE Elimination Chamber in Chicago on February 28th, AJ Lee defeated Lynch for the prize that Star Trek‘s social media dubbed the “Intergalactic Championship.”
Becky Lynch, whose real name is Rebecca Quin, appears as Lieutenant MacKenzie Ya in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. She first appeared in the show’s premiere as part of Captain Nahla Ake’s (Holly Hunter) crew on the USS Athena, and later returned in the fourth episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
After losing her Intercontinental Championship, Becky Lynch unleashed a flurry of angry posts on social media. She targeted AJ Lee, referee Jessika Carr – with whom she’s had previous disagreements – and WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. Here’s a glimpse of what ‘Big Time Becks’ said online:

As a wrestling fan, I’ve been following the drama after Elimination Chamber, and it’s been wild! Becky Lynch didn’t let up on social media, even hinting at legal action. Then, on RAW, after AJ Lee’s win, Lynch got really upset that they immediately booked a match to determine who would challenge for AJ’s Intercontinental Title. It felt like a total snub, and she definitely let everyone know she wasn’t happy about it!
On January 12th’s Monday Night RAW, Becky Lynch won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship for the second time, defeating Maxxine Dupri at Madison Square Garden. The following night, she attended the world premiere of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy in New York City, proudly displaying her newly won championship belt, which she playfully referred to as the “Intergalactic Championship.”
Becky Lynch, both as her ‘Becky Lynch’ persona and on social media, plays a character who is confident, outspoken, and often a villain. Beyond wrestling, she’s a big fan of Star Trek and frequently promotes Starfleet Academy online. Her popularity in WWE, including holding the Intercontinental Championship, has also brought Star Trek into WWE events.
Becky Lynch is coming back for the second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which recently finished filming. While preparing to play her Star Trek role, Lynch filmed a behind-the-scenes vlog as her WWE character, ‘The Man.’ The contrast between the confident and boastful Becky Lynch and the Starfleet officer she portrays, Lt. Ya, really showcases Rebecca Quin’s impressive range as an actress.
As a huge fan, I think it’s only a matter of time before Becky Lynch gets her title back from AJ Lee and becomes a three-time WWE ‘Intergalactic Champion’! I’m really hoping the second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy gives Lieutenant Ya a great storyline – I think Becky Lynch would absolutely kill it with that role and really show what she’s capable of.
