Fans attending FIFA World Cup matches in Los Angeles with tickets will likely have to pay hundreds of dollars to park, and even then, the parking will be over a mile from the stadium.
This June, the largest World Cup in history will begin across the USA, Mexico, and Canada, featuring a record number of teams all vying for the championship.
Los Angeles will be a host city for eight matches in the 2026 World Cup, including one quarterfinal game, and tickets are expected to be reasonably priced.
Tickets for some of the less expensive seats at SoFi Stadium are predicted to cost less than $200, according to a report from The Athletic. That’s a positive development.
Unfortunately, parking is a real problem – it’s much more expensive than the price of a ticket to the game.
FIFA is charging up to $300 for 2026 World Cup parking
Even though game tickets are reasonably affordable, parking for popular matches, such as USA versus Paraguay, can cost as much as $300.
Even tickets to park at less popular games, like Iran versus New Zealand, were quite expensive—around $250, before pennies were no longer used.
Parking near both Intuit Dome, the Clippers’ new arena, and SoFi Stadium will likely be in nearby garages. FIFA estimates fans may have to walk around 20 minutes to reach SoFi Stadium, depending on security checks and how they’re directed to enter.
Generally, parking at those garages costs less than $60 for NBA games and usually stays below $100 for most other big events.
FIFA is defending the pricing.
A spokesperson explained to The Athletic that parking costs are set according to what’s typical for the area and by comparing prices to similar large events held in those cities.
With travel costs adding up, fans heading to games should plan ahead. Some people online have pointed out that it’s often cheaper to book a hotel than to pay for parking, especially considering the distance to the venue.
