
Cody Detwiler, known online as WhistlinDiesel, was arrested on November 12th for allegedly not paying his taxes. He shared images of the arrest on Instagram, showing law enforcement at his home.
Twenty-seven-year-old James Detwiler was arrested and held briefly in Williamson County, Tennessee, before being released on bail later that day.
WhistlinDiesel posted photos and security footage of his arrest, claiming he was accused of cheating after a significant win. He emphasized the situation was genuine, not a fabrication created with artificial intelligence.

Booking records list a single tax evasion charge
Screenshots of his custody record show Detwiler was arrested for tax evasion and released on a $2 million bond. He was booked at 12:30 p.m. Central Time on November 12th and released at 3:24 p.m. after posting bail.
Photos and videos show police vehicles arriving at his home, officers approaching him, and then taking him away in handcuffs. Screenshots also reveal he has since been released from custody.
Detwiler has been in trouble with the law before. In 2022, he appeared in court after police caught him and his friends splashing water while riding a jet ski.
