Okay, so as a huge Jurassic Park fan, I just heard about this new perfume or cologne – and it’s supposed to actually smell like Isla Nublar! Apparently, it’s designed to make you feel like you’re there, in the park with the dinosaurs. Pretty wild, right?
I still remember when Jurassic Park came out in 1993 – it was absolutely incredible! It quickly became the biggest movie ever, even beating out E.T., until Titanic came along a few years later and took the crown. But for a while, Jurassic Park was king!
The movie’s success also led to a huge range of merchandise, including toys, games, and clothing, which were incredibly popular when the film came out and continue to sell well as the Jurassic Park series remains popular.
But you’ve never been able to smell like Jurassic Park, until now…
Jurassic Park scent has “resinous depth of fossilized amber”

Xyrena creates perfumes inspired by films, having previously released fragrances based on movies like The Breakfast Club, Jaws, Happy Gilmore, The Thing, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and the Chucky series.
The company is now working on its most ambitious project yet – a fragrance that Xyrena claims took 65 million years to develop.
In 2015, Xyrena introduced its popular Dark Ride fragrance, created by perfumer Killian Wells. The scent was inspired by the atmosphere of water-based theme park rides, such as Jurassic Park River Adventure.
Xyrena has released an official Jurassic Park fragrance, a first-of-its-kind scent inspired by the iconic theme park ride. Developed in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment, the fragrance aims to recreate the feeling of Isla Nublar, featuring notes of fresh, rainy petrichor…

Ten years on, Xyrena has teamed up with Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment to launch a new fragrance inspired by their original scent. This version maintains the spirit of the first, but is designed to be more everyday-wearable, evoking the feeling of being at Jurassic Park or on one of its thrilling rides.
Xyrena describes the official Jurassic Park fragrance as starting with the fresh scent of rain on dry earth (petrichor), combined with the smells of a lush rainforest, bright neroli, and ripe blackcurrant. The fragrance then develops with notes of West Indian lilac, damp earth, and oakmoss. Finally, it settles into a base of slightly chlorinated water and the rich, ancient aroma of fossilized amber.
You can buy the “cinematic scent” for $120 in the United States and £80 in the UK. Visit the Xyrena website to learn more. If you’re a fan of dinosaurs, check out our ranking of all the Jurassic Park films!
