Where Winds Meet reaches 15 million players in one month

Where Winds Meet has quickly become a hit, reaching 15 million players worldwide in its first month after release.

I was so excited to hear the news on December 14th! The developers announced how amazing this year has been for the game, and they thanked all of us – the community – for making it such a huge success. It’s incredible to think about! It seems the mobile launch on December 12th really brought in a ton of new players from all over the world, and it’s just been growing ever since.

The game continues to be a huge success, building on an impressive launch that saw nine million players join in the first two weeks. On November 23, 2025, it reached a peak of 251,008 players simultaneously on Steam.

Where Winds Meet celebrates 15 million players milestone

I’m still blown away by how popular the game has become! Even the developers seem shocked. I read an interview with the Lead Producer, Beralt Lyu, and he said the player numbers have totally exceeded what they expected internally. He explained they were hoping it would connect with people who appreciated the open world and sense of mystery they worked so hard to build, but this has been way beyond their hopes – it’s amazing!

We were truly surprised by the incredible response – over nine million people played in just two weeks, far exceeding anything we predicted.

I’m seriously blown away by Where Winds Meet – it’s really become one of my favorite games of the year! It’s even gotten recognized by TopMob as being among the best, right up there with amazing games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Hades 2. That’s huge!

This achievement follows closely on the heels of the Version 1.1 release, a significant update that greatly expanded the game’s Kaifeng map and added a new sect, story chapters, outfits, seasonal activities, and numerous enhancements to make the game more enjoyable.

I’m so excited for the New Year’s event in Where Winds Meet! From December 31st, 2025, to January 1st, 2026, there’s going to be a huge global fireworks show in the game. It’s awesome that players everywhere can join in at their local countdown time as we all head into the New Year together!
