The first spin-off series from Stranger Things arrives this week! Here’s when you can start watching the animated show, Tales From ’85.

The final season of Stranger Things wrapped up at the beginning of the year with a thrilling showdown, as Vecna was finally defeated and the young heroes of Hawkins moved on from their childhoods.

But that isn’t the end of the story, with Netflix presently figuring out how to continue the narrative and extend the brand.

Okay, so they’re starting to expand the Stranger Things universe with a new animated show called ‘Tales From ’85’! It’s got all the characters we love, but it’s done in the style of those old Saturday morning cartoons I used to watch. Honestly, I’m super hyped for this – here’s when it’s coming out!

So, there are 10 episodes in this series, which is awesome! Each one is pretty quick to get through, though – they’re all around 30 minutes long, which is shorter than the live-action versions. Perfect for when I don’t have a ton of time!

What is the show about?

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 takes place between seasons two and three. It follows the group as they make friends with a new student and face off against a different kind of creature.

It’s 1985 and a harsh winter has fallen on Hawkins. In “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85,” our favorite characters will face new monsters and try to solve a terrifying paranormal mystery that’s gripping their town.

The monsters in the show are created by combining science from Hawkins Lab with the strange material from the Upside Down, according to showrunner Eric Robles. He explains that all the creatures have a connection to the Upside Down, resulting in the unique beings we see.

As a kid, I was terrified by ‘Jaws,’ and our show uses a similar idea – something dangerous is hidden beneath the snow, and you’re constantly waiting for it to appear. We’ve also had fun creating some really original monsters for the series.

The show offers more than just monster action, according to Robles. It blends adventure with both thrilling and funny moments, capturing the excitement of youth while also presenting genuine danger and consequences.

These characters have a strong bond and genuinely care for one another, acting like a family. The show features exciting adventures, but it also focuses on heartfelt connections and authentic moments between them.
