You might have heard, but it’s official: Bad Bunny is now Pizza With Sunglasses! The news broke earlier today when Pixar announced on TikTok that Bad Bunny will be a new character in Toy Story 5 – a cheerful slice of pizza wearing sunglasses. The short video shows a toy version of Pizza With Sunglasses bouncing around, and when it ‘speaks,’ it’s actually Bad Bunny laughing, seemingly thrilled to be reborn as this fun, simple character.
Sometimes I wonder if he’s just making fun of how confused I am. Seriously, how does Pizza With Sunglasses just… bounce? Is it one of those squishy toys you get in kids’ meals, like from Pizza Planet in Toy Story? If so, has he ever been threatened by the Claw, just like those little green aliens? And if he’s always been inside, why does he need sunglasses? What does he see that I don’t?
Details about this new character are still limited, but they also appear with Woody and the rest of the toys in a promotional ad for Toy Story 5, coming to theaters on June 19th. The performer, known for their Super Bowl halftime show and current hit song “Pizza With Sunglasses,” hasn’t commented on voicing the pepperoni-topped pizza. This role feels like a natural fit for the singer, who has often been seen enjoying pizza and wearing sunglasses, and has openly shared their love for the Toy Story movies. It’s safe to say they never expected to become a friend of Woody’s!
