I remember being completely captivated by Josh O’Connor in Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera – honestly, everyone had a crush on him wandering around Italy in that wonderfully worn-out suit! He’s been busy since then, tackling roles like a tennis pro, an art thief, and even a priest (quite a range, right?). Now, he’s re-teaming with Rohrwacher for her new film, Three Incestuous Sisters, which is based on a novel by Audrey Niffenegger – you might know her from The Time Traveler’s Wife. Thankfully, O’Connor isn’t playing one of the sisters – he’s the love interest! And he’s in fantastic company, with Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Johnson, and Jessie Buckley – who I’m already predicting will be a Best Actress contender – all joining the cast. It’s shaping up to be a seriously exciting project.
Okay, I just heard Dakota Johnson might be doing an accent in her new movie, and honestly, I’m curious to see if she can pull it off! The script is being written by the director and Ottessa Moshfegh, and knowing their work, I’m pretty sure this film, judging by the title and who’s involved, is going to be anything but conventional or, shall we say, lacking in… interesting themes. Let’s just say I don’t expect a totally normal movie!
