On Easter Sunday, Taylor Frankie Paul, known from the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, announced she is leaving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often called the Mormon church. In an Instagram post, she expressed continued love and respect for her upbringing, stating she’ll still attend services with her family occasionally, but it’s time for her to move away from the church as a core part of her life.
She still identifies as Christian, but has also felt supported by people with varying or no religious beliefs. Earlier, she described the past 40 days as incredibly difficult, referencing the fallout from her season of The Bachelorette being cancelled. This happened after a video surfaced showing her throwing an object at her former partner, Dakota Mortensen. Mortensen subsequently filed a restraining order against her. Both Mortensen and she are currently under investigation regarding a domestic dispute that occurred in late February.
Though not all the women featured on the show currently identify as practicing members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they all have a history of involvement with the church. It’s currently unknown if Paul will be back for season five of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, as filming is still on hold.
