Super Mario coffins go viral after funeral company launches unofficial collab

A funeral home in Brazil is getting a lot of attention for its new coffins themed after the Super Mario video game, offering a surprising and colorful twist on traditional memorials.

It’s becoming more popular for funerals to reflect a person’s passions, like their favorite video games, TV shows, or movies. Now, a funeral home in Brazil is getting a lot of attention for making coffins decorated with famous characters.

Bignotto, a company that makes urns and coffins, recently showed off a new, playful line inspired by the Super Mario video game on their Instagram. The coffins feature designs of popular characters like Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi. The video of the unique coffins quickly became popular online.

Each character and design is associated with a specific color – pink for Princess Peach, red for Mario and Toad, and green for Yoshi and Luigi. To easily distinguish between them, each one is displayed on its own wooden plaque.

While the design is understated considering what inspired it, putting such bright and happy characters in a coffin is still a surprisingly bold choice.

The unusual designs immediately became popular online, with lots of people requesting characters like Sonic and Bowser. This isn’t the first time Bignotto has created designs based on popular culture – they’ve also done collections inspired by Barbie and The Fairly OddParents.
