Answer to “Smooth creamy soup type” in Cookie Jam
While many soups exist, if a crossword puzzle asks for a creamy one, there’s usually just one correct answer.
- Smooth creamy soup type – Bisque
As a huge soup fan, I’ve always been fascinated by bisque! It’s basically the ultimate creamy, smooth, and rich soup. Traditionally, it’s made with delicious shellfish like lobster, crab, or shrimp. What I find really cool is that they often start by making a super flavorful broth *from the shells* of the seafood – that’s where all the amazing taste comes from! Then they blend or strain everything to make it perfectly velvety. To get that incredible creaminess, they usually add cream, rice, or even a little butter and flour. The final result is just pure luxury – a concentrated seafood flavor with a really mellow, creamy finish. It’s seriously one of my favorites!
Originally, bisque was a seafood soup, but chefs have broadened its definition over time. Now, you can find bisques made with ingredients like tomato or other vegetables, all prepared with the same smooth, creamy texture. However, the original seafood bisque is still considered the most classic version of this sophisticated soup.
