Players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC are currently enjoying Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, but Switch 2 owners haven’t been able to join the fun – until now! The game is coming to Switch 2 before the end of the year.
SEGA announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will launch on the Switch 2 on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
The game’s release date, price, available editions, and details about the Upgrade Pack have all been announced.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Release Info
As a fan, I’m glad to see the digital version will be the usual $69.99, which is pretty standard for big games these days. They’re also doing a physical copy with the game on a cartridge, which is awesome for collectors like me! The only downside is we’ll have to wait until early 2026 to get our hands on it, unfortunately.
If you already have the game on Switch, you can upgrade to the new version for a reduced price. From December 3rd to December 10th, 2025 (5 PM PT / 8 PM ET), the upgrade will be available for only $5 – that’s 50% off the usual $10 price. This offer lets you move your game from your Switch to the new Switch 2 console.
After the update, players can seamlessly continue their game on the Switch 2 – all their progress and unlocked content will automatically transfer over, so they don’t have to start from scratch.
Wondering if you should buy Sonic Racing: Crossworlds? Our review says it’s a strong contender in the kart racing genre, which has been dominated by Mario Kart for a very long time.
The game is getting more content soon, including new racers. Hopefully, the upcoming Switch 2 will be powerful enough to run it smoothly, but since the game doesn’t rely on super-high-end graphics, it should work well.
