Koppepan, a solo developer from Japan, has revealed their new RPG, Monetaria, which will be released on PC through Steam. A demo is currently available for download on the game’s Steam page.
Monetaria features fast-paced, real-time battles controlled through strategic commands. The developers at koppepan have cited several games as influences: Shin Megami Tensei inspired the 3D dungeon exploration from a first-person perspective, Slay the Spire influenced the randomized progression system, and Yuji Horii’s adventure game, The Hokkaido Serial Murder Case: The Okhotsk Disappearance, served as inspiration for the command-based gameplay.
You can find the official trailer, game details, and screenshots for Monetaria below. It will be released in both Japanese and English. As of today, Koppepan hasn’t announced when the full game will be available.
Everything is falling apart. The very fabric of reality is breaking down, and it all started when seven powerful demons appeared in different parts of the world.
Led by the mysterious being known as “E,” Kanechika and his team discover they have “Roles” and “Skills” – abilities that let them see and eliminate dangerous threats. Their mission to prevent the world’s destruction takes them on a worldwide journey to expose the hidden truths lurking below.
Explore a hidden and dangerous world by venturing through “The Web,” a challenging, randomly generated dungeon, and “The Vortex,” a fully immersive, first-person 3D dungeon. You’ll need to survive both to uncover the anomalies within.
As a player, I’m really excited about the combat – it’s all happening live, in real-time! What’s even cooler is that I can switch instantly between four different character roles right in the middle of the fast-paced, action-packed battles. It feels super dynamic and keeps things fresh!
