Shrek 5 Found Its Orge Sons

Did you expect Shrek 5 to leave out Shrek and Fiona’s kids? Skyler Gisondo and Marcello Hernández will voice Farkle and Fergus, their sons and triplets to a new character, Felicia, who will be voiced by Zendaya. DreamWorks revealed the casting at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, along with a fun video on Shrek’s Instagram. In the video, Hernández jokingly admitted he got really into character preparation, even painting himself entirely green, like the character Elphaba! He joked that if he’s still in New York for the holidays, he could be an understudy for Wicked on Broadway – he’s certainly got the talent!

Both actors, Gisondo and Hernández, have experience playing sons in movies and TV. Gisondo recently played Ben Stiller’s son in the new movie Focker in Law, and Hernández often played Pedro Pascal’s son on SNL, a character known for bringing home unusual girlfriends. Gisondo has a long history of voice acting, starting with the Air Bud movies, while Hernández previously lent his voice to the upcoming Angry Birds movie. However, his work on SNL, where he plays a variety of quirky characters each week, has already given him valuable training for voice work. Shrek 5, directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn, is scheduled for release on June 30, 2027, over the Fourth of July weekend, which will give Hernández some extra time to prepare his look, as he’s known for using body paint.
