Prime Video has officially decided the fate of its new Vikings replacement series.
The popular streaming service has announced a second season of its Viking drama, Bloodaxe, even before the first season begins! Created by Michael Hirst, the mind behind Vikings, and his son Horatio, the show takes place in the 10th century and follows Erik Bloodaxe (played by Xavier Molyneux) – a fierce Viking warrior with a destiny to become King of Norway. The series will also explore the story of his wife, Gunnhild (Jessica Madsen), and how she helps him achieve power. Bloodaxe is scheduled to debut on Prime Video in early 2027.
Prime Video has announced that a second season of Bloodaxe is happening! The show was renewed well before the first season even aired. Filming will begin in Dublin, Ireland, in August 2026, and will continue the story of Erik and Gunnhild as they strive for more power.
