Pokemon TCG vending machine fight ends with shopper pepper-sprayed over ETBs

A video of a fight at a Pokémon card vending machine is circulating online. It shows one customer using pepper spray on another during a disagreement over an Elite Trainer Box.

Pokemon card vending machines are now popular spots for collectors, particularly when they have rare or highly desired cards. Though designed for convenience, restocks often attract large crowds hoping to snag the latest and greatest trading card game items.

A video shared by the Pokémon account PokeStreetz shows a dispute where someone is accused of repeatedly restarting a Pokémon trading machine to quickly grab multiple Elite Trainer Boxes from the Ascended Heroes set.

A dispute over a Pokémon vending machine escalated into a pepper spray attack. Witnesses say one person was quickly buying up special ‘Ascended Heroes’ packs after allegedly resetting the machine. The argument turned physical, and after a brief scuffle, the attacker used pepper spray, claiming they didn’t want to fight. The incident caused significant disruption and has been widely shared online with hashtags like #PokeStreetz and #CaughtGlitching.

Pokemon vending machine dispute ends in pepper spray

The video shows two men having a disagreement next to a Pokemon trading card game vending machine, while someone films them from a distance.

Okay, so I was watching and it looked like one guy actually pushed the other while they were arguing near the vending machine. The guy who got pushed dropped this card – I think it was an ETB – and then he quickly pulled out what looked like pepper spray and started walking back towards the other guy. It was pretty tense!

He sprayed the other man in the face twice, then grabbed the dropped item and his hat before leaving.

According to PokeStreetz, the man shouted, “I DON’T FIGHT!” right before using the spray, but it’s unknown what led up to the incident.

The video quickly gained attention among Pokemon card collectors, who were surprised to see a disagreement over vending machine cards become so intense.

Pokémon trading card game products are consistently popular with collectors and resellers, and new items, limited editions, and restocks often sell out almost immediately. This high demand can be frustrating for fans who struggle to find what they want because some people buy up large quantities before others have a chance.
