Philip DeFranco is giving away $1 million to his fans after winning a challenge video hosted by MrBeast. He unexpectedly won the competition and is now sharing the prize with his subscribers.
On June 16th, in a TikTok post, DeFranco announced plans to give away $1 million by splitting it between 40 individuals, with each person getting $25,000.
DeFranco said he achieved this result unexpectedly, calling it a fortunate coincidence. He didn’t plan for it to happen.
The YouTube creator was surprised to be invited to MrBeast’s 50 YouTuber Challenge, especially since he usually makes videos about other popular creators on the platform.
DeFranco said he first accepted the invitation because he was interested in seeing how MrBeast makes his videos.
He explained that he wondered if he’d ever have another opportunity to see how Beast Inc. productions were made, saying, ‘When would I ever get another chance to go behind the scenes?’
DeFranco didn’t think he’d last long in the competition. With 50 creators participating, he felt the chances of making it far were slim.
DeFranco says giveaway details are coming soon
DeFranco made it through the initial stages of the competition and kept improving, eventually winning the whole thing and claiming the $1 million prize.
He excitedly announced, “I won everything! Now I get to give a million dollars to some of you guys through a Mr. Beast wallet.”
DeFranco made it clear he won’t be personally profiting from the giveaway, explaining that it’s designed to help his viewers.
He explained that this was about providing financial support to his subscribers, specifically those he affectionately calls ‘Franco Nation’.
When revealing details about the giveaway, DeFranco also said he discovered possible attempts to manipulate the votes near the end of the contest.
So, I heard from Casey DeFranco that JC Caylen mentioned something on his livestream – apparently, someone told them there’s a possibility people were actually paid to vote against Casey! It’s pretty wild to think about, honestly.
“I was offered some money to not vote for you,” Caylen said in the clip shared by DeFranco.
DeFranco stated he didn’t know about any claims of vote buying while the show was being filmed, and expressed gratitude to the creators who stood by him anyway.
As of right now, DeFranco hasn’t shared how to enter the giveaway, but he says he’ll be announcing more information shortly.
