Persona 5: The Phantom X version 4.0 update launches with new main story chapter and 2 new party members

I’m so excited! Sega and Atlus just dropped a huge update for Persona 5: The Phantom X! It brings the game up to version 4.0, and the best part is they’ve added a brand new story arc and episode to the main game – and it’s totally free! As a fan, I can’t wait to jump back in and see what happens next.

I’m so excited about this update! They’re adding two new characters you can add to your team, and the first one, Shoki “Luce” Ikenami, is officially a Phantom Thief! You can unlock him just by playing through the new story content, which is awesome for all of us players.

Another new character is Manaka “Ange” Nagao. She’s known as a powerful 5-star support character on previous East Asian servers, but she won’t be joining the main team in this story. Instead, players can recruit her as a special “Phantom Idol” through a limited-time gacha event.

With this latest update, players on newer P5X servers will now see a new opening animation set to the song “Show Stealer” by Lyn, composed by Ryota Kozuka.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the Japanese and global game servers on June 26th, the developers have released a new webpage detailing upcoming updates. The page includes a schedule leading up to the anniversary, and hints at a large event in late May. While past updates on earlier servers featured crossover content from Persona 3 Reload, Sega and Atlus haven’t yet confirmed what to expect for these later servers.

Chapter 4 of the Main Story, titled ‘The Masks We Wear: Phase 1’, is now available! This release includes new story content.

New content has been added, including the 4-star Phantom Thief Shoki Ikenami and his unique weapons (including a 5-star option). The game also features new areas in both Palaces and Mementos.

The Masks We Wear: Phase 1 will be available until 1:59 AM UTC on June 11, 2026. We’ll share more information soon.

A new 5-star Phantom Thief, Manaka Nagao, is available in the Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts! This event runs until 1:59 AM UTC on June 4, 2026. Stay tuned for more details coming soon.

Shadow Hunt is active until 1:59 AM UTC on June 11, 2026. During this event, you can find powerful enemies in new Palaces and Mementos – check the event page for details! Plus, you can now unlock the Path of Kaitul in Mementos, even if you haven’t cleared all areas yet.

Tycoon Typhoon is a fast-paced, four-player card game where the goal is to be the first to get rid of all your cards. The event runs until 1:59 AM UTC on May 21, 2026. We’ll share more details soon!

We’re celebrating our upcoming first anniversary with a special login bonus! For 60 days after you first log in before July 16, 2026 (UTC), you’ll receive a reward. Stay tuned for more details in a future announcement.

We’ve added new rewards to Gates of the Nightmare Catcher! You can now earn Joy Medals and Konpaku Gems as Stage Rewards, in addition to the points you already receive.

A new weapon, Pheromone Sting, is now available for the Protagonist. You can find the weapon and the materials needed to create it—Pheromone Sting Shards—as rewards while exploring new areas in Mementos and the Palace in Chapter 4. Additionally, Pheromone Sting Shards will be available for purchase using Companion Coins and Star Crystals.

We’re adding ‘Hope’ as an option for exchanging items to get Space Revelation Cards, like Orange Fortune Revelation and Unknown Orange Revelation S.

We’re adding Prudence and Ruin as options for exchanging items to get Sun, Moon, Star, and Sky Revelation Cards. This means you’ll now be able to use these items, along with existing options like Fortune and Unknown Orange Revelation, to obtain these cards.

I’m so excited! They’ve added more Revelation Cards that you can inscribe! Now, alongside the Nativity Space cards, I can also add inscriptions to the Futility and Disappointment Sun, Moon, Star, and Sky cards. It’s awesome to have more customization options!
