A YouTuber in Japan recently gained a lot of attention for faithfully following the intense workout routine of Saitama from the popular manga and anime One Punch Man for three years straight. The creator of One Punch Man himself has even acknowledged the dedication!
The hero Saitama from One Punch Man says he achieved incredible strength through a simple but intense daily workout: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 6.2-mile run.
While most people see it as a silly joke from an anime, 44-year-old YouTuber Tasuke decided to actually try it out in real life.
Japanese media outlet Yutura reports that Tasuke, a 41-year-old man weighing 164 pounds, started an incredible challenge on April 21, 2023. He committed to completing the entire workout routine of the anime character Saitama, every single day for three years, without any days off.
He finally hit the finish line on April 20, 2026, after 1,096 consecutive days.
One Punch Man creator praises YouTuber’s insane transformation
During the challenge, Tasuke ran more than 10,000 miles and did over 109,600 of each exercise: push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
People are amazed by his incredible transformation! He’s gotten much leaner, developed visible abs, and significantly improved his stamina, and videos of his progress have quickly spread online.
The journey wasn’t easy. Over the three years, Tasuke faced challenges like injured toenails, getting sick, and even a couple of traffic accidents.
Yutura shared Tasuke’s story on X, which caught the eye of One Punch Man’s creator, ONE, who then replied on the platform.
ONE expressed their amazement and gratitude, saying “Someone recreated it again… that’s amazing… I mean, thank you,” in response to a real-life depiction of their character Saitama.

So, I was doing this Saitama workout, and it reminded me of something funny. In the anime, Saitama loses all his hair after doing it! I kept waiting for people to tell me I had to do the whole thing over because I didn’t go bald, which, honestly, was a relief!
He continued to challenge himself and recently ran 205.83km around Lake Biwa in an impressive 27 hours, 42 minutes, and 5 seconds.
Tasuke isn’t the first person to gain attention from following Saitama’s exercise routine. Last year, a man in China who was struggling financially dramatically improved his life by trying the same workouts.
