Nintendo successfully sued a streamer for repeatedly broadcasting pirated Switch games. The streamer also taunted Nintendo by saying, “I can do this all day.”
Nintendo is famous for strongly protecting its games from leaks and piracy. Recently, they demanded over $4 million from a Reddit moderator they accused of piracy, and they’ve also filed several lawsuits against websites offering game files (ROMs), people who modify games, and those who share unreleased content.
Nintendo argues that piracy and leaked streams damage fans’ experiences and devalue new titles.
The most recent incident involved a streamer called “Every Game Guru,” who had been publicly criticizing the company and playfully suggesting they were capable of endless repetition.
Nintendo demands damages from pirating streamer who mocked them
Court documents show Nintendo accused the player of streaming leaked, unreleased games – including “Mario & Luigi: Brothership” – on multiple platforms more than fifty times. They specifically stated the player streamed at least ten of Nintendo’s unreleased titles.

Nintendo stated that the streamer bypassed their bans by using emulators and creating new accounts. Even after being repeatedly blocked and warned, he continued to stream using different usernames.
The case gained attention because of the brazen way the individuals involved bragged about their actions. They reportedly sent Nintendo a letter claiming they had numerous anonymous accounts and could continue the activity indefinitely. According to TorrentFreak, the streamer also publicly challenged Nintendo on Facebook, stating, “You may be a big company, but I control things on the ground.”
Because the streamer didn’t respond to the legal case, the court ruled in favor of Nintendo automatically.
The judge ruled that he must pay $17,500 in damages, but pointed out that Nintendo could have asked for a much larger amount.
