NHL fans rain glass on opposition coach after celebrating unbelivable playoffs save

Avs fans got carried away with excitement after an incredible save during a hockey game and accidentally broke the glass surrounding the rink.

The NHL team barely beat the LA Kings on Tuesday night, and goalie Scott Wedgewood was the main reason why, especially during the crucial playoff penalty shootout.

However, the game will likely be best remembered for an unusual incident: the Kings’ coach was covered in broken glass when overzealous Avalanche fans celebrated and things got out of hand.

Fans break glass during crucial moment in NHL game

The second playoff game between the Avalanche and Kings ended in a scoreless tie, forcing a resolution to determine a winner.

It was so frustrating! The Kings had a great opportunity, but their goalie, Wedgewood, just wouldn’t let anything get past him. He made an amazing save on Quinton Byfield’s shot, which really killed our momentum.

After the incredible save, the excitement inside Denver’s Ball Arena exploded, and Avalanche fans cheered so loudly they shook the glass barriers until a section broke apart.

It would have been a serious incident on its own, but the glass falling directly onto LA Kings coach D.J. Smith made the situation much more hazardous and chaotic.

During the game, commentators described a chaotic scene after a save by Wedgewood. A large pane of glass fell and completely covered Coach Smith, who they joked would need a thorough wash to clean off.

It was crazy! The Kings’ bench actually had to clear out during the shootout. Sadly, they ended up losing 2-1, and now the Avalanche are up 2-0 in the series. They just need two more wins to eliminate the Kings, which is a tough spot for us fans!
