Netflix’s Upcoming Beauty In The Beast K-Drama Will Be Perfect For “Team Jacob” Twilight Fans

Fans of Team Jacob will be excited to hear that a K-drama currently available on Netflix seems tailor-made for them, especially those who love the Twilight series.

The debate over whether Bella Swan should end up with Edward or Jacob in the Twilight series was intense. Fans on both sides, known as “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob,” passionately argued for their preferred couple, and I remember seeing those disagreements even end friendships.

In the end, fans who wanted Edward and Bella to be together got what they wished for, while those rooting for Jacob were left with the strange storyline involving Renesmee. To be clear, I’m not taking sides – I don’t belong to either “Team Edward” or “Team Jacob.” Honestly, I would have preferred a romantic relationship between Alice and Bella, but that wasn’t an option. I’m just an impartial observer.

It’s understandable why fans who rooted for Jacob in The Twilight Saga were upset with how things turned out. It’s always disappointing when the couple you’re hoping for doesn’t end up together, and nothing can really fix that. However, a new K-drama coming to Netflix called Beauty in the Beast might help ease the sting of that disappointment.

Netflix’s Beauty In The Beast Is A YA Werewolf Love-Triangle Romance

The upcoming K-drama, currently titled Beauty in the Beast, is a young adult romance that focuses on a love triangle involving two werewolves and one human. Unlike some similar stories, it seems this show won’t feature a traditional, mysterious vampire as the eventual love interest, according to Netflix’s description.

Ha Min-soo is a freshman in college who has managed to hide her werewolf side. Now, she’s navigating a completely new life with new friends and potential romances. She’s attracted to two people: Hae-jun, a slightly older human, and Do-ha, who is also a werewolf. She’ll have to decide who she wants to be with.

What I really love about Beauty in the Beast is that it hits a lot of the same notes as Twilight did for me back in the day. We’ve got Ha Min-soo suddenly finding herself in a totally new world, and right away, she’s caught between two guys who are complete opposites. There’s definitely a supernatural vibe going on, and a bunch of secrets that I’m sure will make things super complicated for anyone trying to build a relationship. It’s a young adult story too, although these characters are in college instead of high school, which is a nice change of pace.

No matter who Ha Min-soo ends up with, fans of the werewolf storyline will still get their desired romance. The final couple will always include a werewolf – it will either be a werewolf with another werewolf, or a werewolf with a human, unless the story surprises us with an unexpected turn.

Do-ha Sound Like Early Jacob & Hae-jun Sounds Like Later Jacob

Fans who enjoyed the character of Jacob in the Twilight series might also love the love interests in Beauty and the Beast because they share similar personalities to him.

Netflix introduced Do-ha as a carefree and unreserved new love interest. This reminds many viewers of Jacob Black from the first two Twilight books, before he becomes a werewolf. Like early Jacob, Do-ha seems easygoing and a bit wild, demonstrated by his enthusiasm for building motorcycles – something Bella describes as playfully dangerous. He embodies a youthful, fun-loving energy.

Hae-jun appears tough on the outside, but he’s secretly a kind and gentle person. While described as distant, he actually offers a comforting and reliable presence.

Later in the story, Jacob is often portrayed as tough and distant, but underneath that exterior, he’s actually very kind and caring. Becoming a werewolf definitely made him more prone to anger and withdrawal, but once you get past his defenses, his gentle nature shines through.

In the Twilight Saga, Team Jacob didn’t get the ending they hoped for when Bella chose Edward. But with Beauty and the Beast, both male love interests feel similar to Jacob, meaning either one could have easily been a good match for Bella.
