Nate Jacobs Got Really Rattled on Euphoria

I’m totally hooked on Sam Levinson’s Euphoria, and if you are too, I’ve discovered something awesome! There’s a newsletter called Euphoria Club where we really dive deep into season three – it’s just for subscribers, so you get exclusive, detailed breakdowns of everything that’s happening. If you want to overthink it with me, you should definitely check it out!

Spoilers for Euphoria season 3, episode 7, “Rain or Shine.”

Everyone suspected a character’s death was coming, especially after Anora’s sister mentioned people lose interest if no one dies occasionally. We just didn’t know who it would be. In a move before the season finale, Sam Levinson killed off Nate Jacobs. He was buried in the desert by his loan shark, who then gave Cassie $72 hours to repay the $1 million Nate owed. However, a rattlesnake bit the loan shark before Cassie could get the money. Jacob Elordi, who played Nate, jokingly called it “a cool way to go” in an interview after the episode.

Jacob Elordi accepted how his character’s story ended. He explained, “Nate made a lot of bad decisions, and it feels right to see the consequences play out.” He was surprisingly okay with a challenging scene involving a snake – a young boa constrictor nicknamed Little Bitch. They used a fake snake for close-ups, and Elordi found the real snake to be quite endearing. “He was really cute and cuddly,” Elordi said. “He just sat next to me, but he was very sleepy, so I had to gently encourage him to move.”

The season finale of Euphoria could have devastating consequences, with the possibility of more characters dying. Alamo has finally figured out Rue’s struggles, but he might not be able to help her because of Faye’s surprising actions during the robbery. We’ll see what happens in the finale, which airs next Sunday – and it’s possible this could be the show’s last season.

Good night, sweet prince. May Kendall Jenner sing thee to thy rest.
