My Hero Academia and Berserk voice actor Takahiro Fujiwara dies aged 43

Takahiro Fujiwara, a voice actor known for his roles as Kurogiri in My Hero Academia and Pippin in Berserk: The Golden Age Arc, has passed away at the age of 43.

Ken Production, the agency representing actor Fujiwara, announced on May 21st that he had died on May 14th.

In addition to his work on popular anime like My Hero Academia and Berserk, Fujiwara voiced several other memorable characters, including Dorry from One Piece, Eikichi Nebuya from Kuroko’s Basketball, and Sekijou from Kingdom.

I was really bummed to hear the news. Ken Production announced that Takahiro Fujiwara, one of their actors, passed away peacefully on May 14th. They said they’re super grateful for all the support he received during his life, and honestly, it’s just really sad.

The announcement also stated that Fujiwara’s funeral was a private event, attended only by immediate family, respecting their wishes.

After the news was released, the official My Hero Academia social media account posted a message thanking the actor for his portrayal of Kurogiri in the anime series.

Takahiro Fujiwara, who voiced the character Kurogiri in the anime My Hero Academia, died on May 14, 2026. The creators expressed their thanks for his work on the show, noting that he played Kurogiri since the first season, and shared their condolences.

An official cause of death has not been announced.
