McDonald’s drops Stranger Things collab to celebrate Tales from ’85 release

To celebrate the new season of Stranger Things, McDonald’s is partnering with Netflix! They’re releasing special Happy Meals with unique collectibles inspired by the show, available at restaurants across the country.

So, they’re dropping a cool promo right when the new animated Stranger Things show hits on April 23rd. It’s basically expanding the whole Stranger Things world with a brand new story, still set in Hawkins, but following a totally different group of characters. I’m hyped to see what this is all about!

A special Happy Meal will be offered for a limited time starting May 5th, letting fans enjoy the franchise in a new way with toys, fun activities, and an interactive experience.

Stranger Things Happy Meal includes 12 collectible toys

McDonald’s and Netflix are teaming up to release a special Happy Meal inspired by the show, featuring a fictional monster-fighting club called the “Hawkins Investigators Club.”

The new game, Tales from ’85, is set in a town overrun by strange monsters—and they’ve even invaded the local McDonald’s! Fortunately, Dustin and his friends have started the Hawkins Investigators Club to fight back, but they need help from players to overcome this challenge.

Every Happy Meal comes with one of twelve different collectible toys. Throughout the promotion, two new characters will be released each week. These toys can be clipped onto things like backpacks, keychains, or anything else you want to decorate!

The meal comes with toys, an activity book, and a QR code that opens an online game. In the game, players work together to protect Hawkins from monsters.

McDonald’s announced the partnership fulfills a long-held ambition for the creators of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer, and officially connects the fast-food chain to the show’s storyline.
