Huda Mustafa and her boyfriend, Louis Russell, recently split up right before she released her new song. It’s fitting that her song is called ‘Bad Girls’! The music video for the song came out on Friday, along with new releases from Olivia Rodrigo and Charli XCX – a bold move to launch them all at the same time.
Mustafa and Russell have announced their separation in a statement to E! News. Mustafa plans to focus on motherhood, her music, and future opportunities. The couple faced significant controversy, notably involving a racial slur during an Instagram Live session in October 2025 related to their time on Love Island USA season 7. A caller used a racial slur against a fellow Love Island cast member, and both Mustafa and Russell laughed. This led to Mustafa being dropped by Huda Beauty. More recently, Russell’s former partner, Nicole Olivera, filed a temporary restraining order against Mustafa in March, alleging threatening behavior towards her and their child. Mustafa denied the claims at the time, stating she was addressing the situation through legal channels and appreciated her supporters.
