Logan Paul’s $550K One Piece and Dragon Ball manga purchase leaves fans furious

Logan Paul recently started collecting manga, but his purchases of chapters from popular series like One Piece and Dragon Ball have upset some fans.

The YouTuber announced on April 22nd that he’d purchased extremely rare, highly-graded first editions of the One Piece and Dragon Ball manga for a record-breaking $550,000.

Both One Piece and Dragon Ball are incredibly famous manga series. One Piece has sold over 600 million copies around the world! Paul shared his excitement online, calling them the greatest manga ever (in his opinion).

He verified that his copy of One Piece Chapter 1 is graded a 9.0, a remarkably high score shared by only two other known copies. His Dragon Ball Chapter 1 received an even higher grade of 9.2 – currently the best grade recorded. He announced that he’s started collecting manga, hinting that he plans to buy more in the future.

Logan Paul turns attention to manga collection

This news follows Paul’s recent sale of a highly-graded Pikachu Illustrator card for $16.4 million – a record for trading card sales. Although his recent purchase of manga is much less expensive than the Pokemon card, many manga fans haven’t reacted well to it.

One user commented that the person probably hasn’t experienced any of the One Piece series, whether through manga or the anime. Others expressed concern about how their involvement might affect the community.

Someone else expressed strong dislike for an influencer attempting to enter the anime and manga community, noting that this is becoming a common occurrence.

So, IShowSpeed jumped in on the drama and basically told me I don’t know anything about One Piece! Honestly, I think he’s just trying to hype up our next match in WWE. It’s all part of the show, you know?

you don’t even know shit about one piece

Fans worried that this could worsen problems with resellers and even cause difficulties with availability. One person commented that they expected to see even more inflated prices online due to scalpers.

In addition to Logan Paul’s interest in manga, two other manga-related stories are gaining attention. A well-known manga artist recently spoke out against illegal online piracy, and the publisher of the hit series Attack on Titan is conducting a global search for the next big manga creator.
