Jacksepticeye explained he’s not planning to ask Markiplier for help with his upcoming Bloodborne movie, even though Markiplier recently had success with the film Iron Lung.
At CinemaCon 2026, Sony revealed plans for an R-rated animated series based on the video game Bloodborne. Popular online creator Seán McLoughlin, also known as Jacksepticeye, will be producing the show.
Some fans were surprised by the announcement, but Jacksepticeye was quick to tell players he understands how challenging it is to recreate one of FromSoftware’s most popular games.
Jacksepticeye won’t ask Markiplier for help despite Iron Lung success
At the BAFTA Games Awards, speaking with Radio Times Gaming, McLoughlin admitted he’s feeling immense pressure to make the movie successful.
He described being thrilled, explaining that Bloodborne is his all-time favorite game and any news related to the series is exciting for its fans.

When asked if he’d seek advice from Markiplier on filmmaking, Jacksepticeye stated he intends to learn and develop his skills independently.
“I need to handle this myself,” he said, pretending to be very serious. “I have to work it out and do it all by myself.”
Markiplier, known for his YouTube videos, recently created a horror movie called Iron Lung, which he funded himself. The movie is based on the popular indie game of the same name, and Jacksepticeye makes an appearance in it.
Even though he didn’t consult Markiplier, Jacksepticeye feels good about the people he’s working with.

He also praised his team, saying they’re fantastic. He then joked that it’s his responsibility to identify those talented individuals, but he’s confident he can manage it.
As a big fan, I was really happy to hear that even though Greg McLoughlin isn’t actually writing or directing the Bloodborne movie, he’s going to do everything he can to make sure it’s amazing! Right now, we still don’t know anything about who’s going to be in it, what the story will be, or when it might actually come out, but knowing he’s fighting for quality gives me a lot of hope.
So, I was really stoked to see Iron Lung do so well in theaters! It was awesome. But Markiplier’s said he doesn’t want people to think he only makes movies based on games. He’s worried about being typecast, I guess? Still, he kinda hinted that his next movie will probably be another game adaptation, which is a little funny. He hasn’t said what game yet, though, so we’ll have to wait and see!
