A college student became popular online after a classmate jokingly blamed his decision to drop a class on a ‘skill issue.’ However, not everyone believes the story is genuine.
It’s incredibly stressful when college students struggle and consider dropping out. This often involves long nights studying, questioning their abilities, and needing to rely on professors and classmates for support.
A University of Central Florida physics student has become popular online after a TikTok video surfaced showing a disagreement with his professor and classmates.
Student quits college class and is told it’s a “skill issue”
A video showing a student angrily declaring he’s dropping the class has quickly gone viral, racking up nearly 3 million views in just two days. He’s heard saying, “This is ridiculous, I’m dropping out,” before another student jokingly responds, “That’s just a matter of skill.”
That really upset the student, who angrily replied, “That’s ridiculous. Most of us are doing terribly in this class, and it’s actually making me consider dropping out and getting a manual labor job.”
He quickly jumped over a chair and angrily walked away, as other students laughed at what happened.
The TikTok video has sparked debate online, and many former students have come forward to say they share the views expressed in it.
Several people shared their experiences with Professor Kaden. One person recalled a negative experience in his 2016 class, while another, who also studied physics at UCF, agreed with a previous comment. A third person remembered disliking the professor but appreciated that he rounded their grade up to an A at the end of the course.
Many people commenting on the situation focused on the student’s choice to leave school, suggesting he’ll be successful regardless. One person joked that he’s adaptable and will figure things out, while another predicted he’d likely find well-paying work in a skilled trade.
Others suggested the video was scripted, but there’s no proof of that.
In China, some students are using special glasses with artificial intelligence to help them cheat on challenging coursework.
